We are located in an actual Hawaiian rainforest. You can expect a somewhat bumpy drive on the unpaved gravel roads, no streetlights or sidewalks, and there is not a convenience store next door...expect a ten-minute drive to the nearest one.
             


You will need to prepare yourself for a "rainforest adventure" by avoiding sweets and alcoholic beverages before your arrival. Garlic pills and vitamin B are a good idea, so perhaps check with your local health food store or you physician for dosage. Insect repellent might be a good idea, and this place is definitely not for you if you have allergic reactions to mosquitoes, although we do not use any pesticides here. We provide earplugs if you don't like the sound of nighttime critters or the rain. Bring a flashlight, it gets dark at night. And for goodness sakes, save the short shorts for the beach. Pretend you are taking a visit to the Amazon. You are visiting a rainforest.
            
The treehouse accommodations are for adventurous (not fussy) travelers. It's a real treehouse in a real tree, in the rainforest. The accommodations include a hot outdoor shower and bathhouse with running water, about a 5-minute walk away. Parking is near the treehouse and prices for staying overnight are $89.00 based on double-occupancy. You will sleep in a full-sized handcrafted ohia bed with a hand painted headboard. All linens and towels are provided. There is also a composting toilet nearby. (There is a chamber pot if you don't want to walk downstairs.) There is also a rustic outdoor kitchen and dining area just below the treehouse, complete with coolers, counters, double burner propane stove and dining area. There is no electricity in the treehouse, and internet is not available. It is a rustic accommodation, perfect for people who love the outdoors. Vacation renters are provided continental breakfast. 
       

        All guests will be charged Hawaii taxes of 13.25%.
        50% deposit to confirm reservation, with balance due at check-in.
        There are no refunds for early departures for any reason.
        If cancellation is more than 21 days in advance, deposit will be refunded.
        If cancellation is less than 21 days in advance, deposit is forfeited unless room is re-booked.
        A $20 rebooking/handling fee applies to all cancellations.
        No refunds or cancellations during Merrie Monarch festival. Four night
minimum during Merrie Monarch.
